Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy:
Hypnosis has been used for many years as a way of helping people to make positive changes in their lives. Hypnosis, in one form or another, has been used as a method of helping people successfully recover from issues and problems for generations. It provides a key to the subconscious mind to help people achieve their goals and has been successfully used to help them manage pain, emotional distress, achieve success, and even overcome phobias, anxiety and depression. It is the mind that controls our bodies and emotions and tapping into this fundamental fact is what makes hypnosis so powerful.
Hypnotherapy is a collaboration between you and your hypnotherapist. Nobody can make you do anything that you don’t want to do, and no-one can hypnotise you against your will, as your subconscious mind will simply reject any suggestions that are inappropriate for you.
Hypnotherapy works by bypassing the conscious mind, where our logical thought processes take place. Suggestions are made to your subconscious mind, the part of your mind responsible for patterns of behaviour.
Through hypnotherapy a state of creative focus is enabled that promotes change to a currently held belief. By using positive imagery and suggestion, Annette encourages you to concentrate on, and consider, alternative outcomes to any given event.
Annette uses a combination of hypnosis and various psychotherapy techniques designed to help you focus on solutions for the future, rather than analysing problems of the past.
Hypnotherapy can help you achieve your goals by working together with Annette to identify where you want to be in your life and how to get there, either by working towards your preferred future, or resolving issues from your past. Each session starts with a discussion designed to encourage you to think positively. This part of the session uses techniques that help you to focus on how you want things to be in your life, rather than focusing on the problem.
Once we have established how you would like your life to be, and you have a clear idea of your preferred future, we will have the hypnosis part of your session to consolidate the steps you need to achieve positive change, and consolidate that positivity. The suggestions Annette will make to you during this part of your therapy will enable the subconscious part of your mind to make that preferred future a reality.
Before the therapy sessions begin it is recommended that you have an initial consultation. This is a free session that lasts about 45 minutes, and offers an opportunity to assess what you want to achieve and ascertain if hypnotherapy is suitable for you.
During the initial consultation Annette will offer an explanation of how the subconscious mind operates and how problems are created, and how hypnotherapy can help you to overcome your problems or difficulties, as well as discuss how many sessions you are likely to need.
